Third seed New Hope Cambridge finished the regular season with 5 straight wins and went undefeated in the tournament to claim their first ever D1 title. They defeated top seed Karmel in a hard fought championship game. Cross Pointe 1 had a strong run with wins over 9-5 Refuge and 10-4 ROC to win third place, while ROC won the consolation trophy.

Congratulations to Seth Leaf and Kelsey McFarland on winning the men’s and women’s home run derbies, respectively. Seth out-muscled over 15 challengers to win the championship for the 2nd straight year, while Kelsey hit 5 in the women’s final.
The 2023 youth tourney was one of the most balanced tournaments we’ve ever had. Most games were neck and neck and there were several walk-off wins. In the end, First Baptist Church double dipped New Hope to earn the championship!

The 6th annual Salem One Pitch Tournament was held on Saturday, April 30th. If you aren’t familiar with what a one pitch tournament is – basically each at bat is only one pitch, period. You either hit the ball into play, take a ball (which is a walk), take a strike (which is an out), or hit a foul ball (which is also an out). This makes the games go by quicker so you can fit more into the day. This year’s tournament was double elimination and consisted of 6 teams: New Hope Cambridge, Oxlip Ballhawks, Oxlip, Refuge, River of Life, and the host Salem Saints.
The games were competitive, featured great sportsmanship, and fun was had by all. In the end, Oxlip went undefeated and topped New Hope Cambridge for the championship, while the Salem Saints claimed third place.
